Paraphrasing

Hye all of you,,, How are you guys??? :)

Are you looking about paraphasing?? Here, I would like to share with you all what I have been learned in the class with Dr. Hopefully it can help you .

Okey, First of all,,what comes across aou mind when we raised up the word "paraphrasing" ? It is taking out important point from passage? list out important point?or what? Everyone have their own opinion but it doesn't mean that their opinion are wrong or right. Alright, now lets's me introduce to you all what does the paraphrasing means. Based on the book Writing With Sources, what I understand with the word "paraphrasing is we do a sentences by taking another person's idea and used them in our own words. Actually the word " paraphrase" itself told the means of its words. the word paraphrase we can split into par which is mean equal and phrase means the sentences. Therefore the overall meaning of that word is a phrase which is equal to the original but written in other words or different format.

oppss..I'm sorry..Ihave to go right now..huhu..Later i will update more about it.. i'm sorry..

Sourcing Material

Sourcing material???what we going discuss about "sourcing material"??? it is about clothes, car, motorcycle or what??? hmm ... we are going to discuss about how to know the information we got is valid, reliable and credible..

Here,,I would like to share with you all some strategies to know whether information we read or we get are valid or not. First, look at the URL address. Hmm.. here are some of the URL that we can know from where does the information comes from..
1) ....gov.com-government
2)....edu.com-education
3)....ac.com-academic
4)....org.com-organization
and etc.

Next, is by looking their content. To know the credibility of the content try looking on the author. From that, we can know their expert area. So, we know that the content can be believe or not. For example, someone talk about something which is out of their area, I believe that the content that they thought we should think back is it true or not or may be it just their opinion about that.

Lastly, we should be able differentiate between opinion and biased.. but.. how??? Hmm... There are some indicators of bias on a web page.. May be we can apply it when reading article or web. First,,,looking at their language..Often biased documents used extreme words to support their idea. Next, looking at the argument. Usually, argument appeal more to the emotions than to logic. From that , we can know that the content are biased. Others than that, look how the writers treat the people based on the topic he is writing about and pay attention to the overall tone of the article. So,, we can recognize the biased in sourcing material.

..I thinks that all comes across my mind  to share with you all right now.. ^_^
